Annual Crime Reports
The Safety & Security Department maintains a crime report for incidents in accordance with Public Law 101-542, Title III, and the Right to Know or "Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Statistics Act" otherwise known as the Cleary Act. The University is required to prepare and publish an annual security report that logs three years of campus crime statistics and provides certain security policy/ program statements including information concerning the University's programs for dealing with drug prevention and sexual assaults. The report also identifies the law enforcement authority of campus security and explains where students should go to report crimes. The report is to be made available to all students and employees while prospective students and employees are to be notified of its existence and given an opportunity to request a copy. Using the Internet to comply with the Act is permissible if the exact Internet address is provided and paper copies are available. A copy of the statistics must also be provided to the U.S. Department of Education. Any student or employee may obtain a copy of the University’s Annual Security Report from the Campus Safety and Security Office or online at www.ope.ed.gov/security/.
