Scholar Leader
The University of Dubuque Scholar Leader Program
The University of Dubuque's Scholar Leader Program is designed to recognize and honor those students who maintain high achievement in academics, particularly in their major discipline(s), and leadership characteristics in multiple ways.
Selection Process
The Scholar Leader Program is open to all highly motivated students regardless of their high school or college GPA or class rank. Students may apply individually or may be recommended by faculty and staff. In order to continue in the program, students must demonstrate strong commitment and evidence of successful progress through program requirements.
Program Benefits
-Recognition at Honors Convocation and Commencement as a Scholar Leader
-Distinction amongst peers to prospective employers and graduate schools
-Mastery of communication, leadership, critical thinking, and other skills that employers and graduate schools highly value
Program Components
The Scholar Leader Program contains eight components, of which students must complete two of the first three and each of the remaining five:
1. Oral Communication
2. Written Communication
3. Visual/Music/Dance
4. Servant Leadership
5. Critical Thinking
6. Globalization
7. Capstone Project
8. Q Courses
