Mark W. Noll was named Head Women's Basketball Coach on May 1, 2007.
Noll, a native of Colfax, Wis. is a 2000 graduate of University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wis., where he has was assistant women's basketball coach for seven seasons overall. He has 17 years of coaching experience at all levels including collegiate, AAU and youth levels. He has been a significant presence in the recent success at UW-Stout women's basketball program in recent years which included three consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) basketball championships, WIAC tournament championships, and two "Sweet 16" finishes in the NCAA Division III National Championships. The women's team at Stout had been among the record attendance leaders for the past five seasons among Division III programs. Mark Noll's background also includes extensive experience as basketball coach, personal instructor and club promoter for the Wisconsin Amateur Athletic Union from 1989-2002. He assisted in every facet of running the nationally known Great Lakes Shootout Basketball Series. He coached AAU teams to the national level with numerous Top-8 finishes at the National Championships and Junior Olympics. He has coached over 100 players who went on to receive college scholarships, two Big Ten Freshman of the Year, two NCAA Kodak All-Americans, the top-3 all-time leading scorers in high school for the state of Wisconsin, two USA Basketball Team members, and three WNBA players. Dana Harrold joined the University of Dubuque coaching staff in 2004 after attending her alma mater from 2000-2004.
The Jesup High School native, prepped at Jesup High School where she had a standout career in several sports. In her senior basketball season at Jesup, she led her team to the first ever girls state tournament berth in the school's history. She holds records for most career/season assists, 2nd most points, and 3rd most steals in a career. Harrold was named all-conference and All-State in both basketball and softball. From 2000-2004 Harrold played point guard for the University of Dubuque, setting the 2nd best record in school history of 14-12 her senior season. She finished her career as the school's second leading scorer, the all-time career assist and steals leader. Harrold was named All-IIAC three seasons and named team MVP and Papa Johns Female Athlete of the Year her junior and senior seasons. Harrold completed her masters in athletic administration through Loras College in 2006. She also holds a physical education and health degree from the University of Dubuque. She and her husband Clay, reside in Cascade. |
