UD for KIDS 2010 Update
Welcome! We are so glad you are visiting the UD Kids website! This will be our 19th year serving gifted and talented students in the tri-state area!
My name is Cheryl Werner and this is my 8th year of directing this outstanding program. UD for Kids is a summer enrichment opportunity for gifted and talented students in the tri-state area. These students demonstrate advanced abilities in academic, leadership, creative, and/or visual and performing arts areas. They have a strong desire to learn. These students must also have the maturity to work effectively with small groups in unfamiliar settings.
Classes are held from 12:30-4:00 p.m. on the University of Dubuque campus, unless otherwise noted.
Here are the UD for Kids 2010 dates:
Students currently enrolled in Grades 1 & 2 attend June 21-25
Students currently enrolled in Grades 3 & 4 attend June 28-July2
Students currently enrolled in Grades 5, 6, & 7 attend July 12-16
Cost for each weeklong session is $115.00. Limited scholarship assistance may be available. Please note that this cost includes a UD Kids tee shirt and daily snacks.
Nominations are required to attend UD Kids.
Please contact your school for the code that is needed to access registration materials.
Alumni families need to contact me directly via email for their code.
Once families have their school code, please return to this website and be ready for course registration. Listed below are the opening dates for registration.
Then, select carefully from our course listings. Read about the courses available and decide which ones best match strengths and interests. Note that there are assigned times for courses. Select according to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. slots, unless a course runs the entire afternoon.
Next, be sure and mark the week on your calendars that corresponds to the appropriate grade level, keeping in mind that the grade level shown refers to the grade just competed. For instance, session one is for students just completing grades 1-2. Please remember, students currently in grades 1-7 are invited to attend.
Finally, complete all registration information, print off the mail-in form, and send in with your payment as soon as possible. Classes fill quickly!
If you have any questions, please contact me at the University of Dubuque at cwerner@dbq.edu.
We hope to see you on the beautiful University of Dubuque campus in June and July!
Sincerely,
Cheryl A. Werner
