Health, Wellness, and Sport - Curriculum
The Health, Wellness and Sport (HWS) Department offers undergraduate preparation programs for individuals seeking a career in Health, Wellness, and Sport.
The HWS department offers a BS degree in Wellness & Exercise Science and Human Health Science, and a BA in Sport Marketing and Management. As part of the coursework contained within this major is the potential to sit for nationally recognized certifications (i.e. ACSM, ARC, NSCA, CPT). Students in the HWS program will obtain hands on experience working in the Human Performance Lab, practicums in the Wellness Center, and Internships in the community.
Admission and Retention
Admission to an HWS major occurs when the student declares the major on the Plan of Study after requesting an HWS advisor. To continue study in an HWS major the student must:
- Maintain a cummulative 2.0 or higher GPA in coursework that comprises the major
