Spartans Men's Soccer Fall to Tommies

SAINT PAUL, MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Dubuque Men's Soccer team played St. Thomas to an even 0-0 tie at the half before the Tommies rallied for three second period goals. Battling high temperates once again, the Spartans played 19 players including two goal keepers. The 3-0 loss for the Spartans was the first ever meeting between the two schools.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jose Resendiz (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) finished the first half with four saves and did not allow a goal. Jake O'Rourke (Las Vegas, Nev./Bishop Gormon) played the second half allowing three goals and recording three saves. 

Brayden Prothero (Ewa Beach, Hawaii/Kamehameha) and Felipe Sanchez (Medford, Ore./South Medford) each recorded two shots. All six UD shots came in the second half. 

UP NEXT: The Spartans will play Lake Forest College (0-0) on September 6th at home on Oyen Field. Game time is 7:30 pm.
