Ravenell and Rutenbeck Named D3 Classic Preseason Super Seniors

GHOSEN, N.Y. - A pair of Spartans have been honored among the D3 Senior Classic Preseason Super Senior Watchlist is presented by the Collegiate Development Football League (CDFL). The University of Dubuue Spartan student-athletes Dominique Ravenell and Tyler Rutenbeck were selected for UD. Rutenbeck was named to the North Offense Second Team and Ravenell was chosen as an Honorable Mention for the Spartans. The pair were among five Iowa Conference student-athletes named to the list.

The pre-season selections was selected by the, 2014 “D3 Senior Classic” Bowl committee and the “Team America” coaching staff. It is based upon player being graduating seniors who's nominations and evaluations made by college coaches, college sports information directors, regional scouts, and media personnel.

The CDFL is honored to showcase the 2014 preseason “Super Seniors” players and to sponsor the annual “D3 Senior Classic”, in December 2014. The selected players are on the watch list for invitation to the 2014 “D3 Senior Classic”.

In addition, these players will be evaluated for selection to the roster of “Team America” that will be representing the USA in scheduled International games in 2015. “Team Americais the only privately funded USA National team representing free agents and promoting American football on an international level. The 2015 schedule includes contests in New York vs. Canada, Grand Cayman Island, and Myrtle Beach vs. Europe.

In 2014 over 300 players participated in the CDFL’s “Player Scout Bowl Series” consisting of four games designed to showcase senior talent on the FCS, D2, D3 and NAIA levels. The “National scouting Showcase” is the nation’s premier scouting opportunity for post collegiate players. It is held annually, in December, in Myrtle Beach, SC.

The Collegiate Development Football league (CDFL), is a football organization devoted to providing skill development and game playing opportunities for post high school and post college players between the ages of 18-25. The CDFL is nationally recognized for its development of four Collegiate All-Star football games; the “D3 Senior Classic, the FCS Senior Scout Bowl“, the” D2 vs. NAIA Senior Challenge” and the “CDFL International Scout Bowl”. In addition, on the eve of the College football season the CDFL releases its All American selections for the upcoming season. Both efforts serve as examples of the CDFL’s efforts to provide football scouting opportunities for players to continue their careers beyond college.

In closing, the CDFL has created and supports the only privately funded, USA National Team known as Team America” ,which represents the sport of American football on the international level. will again represent the United States in 2014 in The thirdannual, Euro -American Challenge International Scout Bowlto be played in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Friday, December 19 , 2014, kickoff 7 pm. This game represents the CDFL efforts to, provide post collegiate football opportunities for players to play, be scouted, and attain professional contracts in the ever expanding European “American football” market.
