Throwers Power Spartan Women’s Track and Field to First Title

Led by Nicole Forson’s victory in the women’s weight throw, the University of Dubuque women’s track and field throwers captured three of the Top-5 performances in both throwing events to lead UD to the Cornell Hilltop Invite title on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans (131 points) beat out four other teams by 18 points, including the lone Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) foe, Simpson College, who finished third with 98 points.

Brinker Shines and Winters Wins as Pair Collects IIAC Player of the Week Awards

Emily Brinker came off the bench and erupted for 29 points in 35 minutes in a pair of wins for the University of Dubuque women’s basketball team while Ernest Winters claimed his second 60 meter dash victory of the year as the University of Dubuque men’s track & field team won the Cornell Hilltop Invite. Both Brinker and Winters garnered UD’s third straight Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s Female Athlete of the Week and Male Track Performer of the Week, respectively.

UD Hosts Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Economic Development Director

Men's Soccer to Host Advanced Winter Camp on March 7

he University of Dubuque men's soccer is excited to announce the 2015 Advanced Players Winter Camp hosted on Match 7, 2015 in Veterans Memorial Training Center on the campus of the University of Dubuque. The newly opened 40,000 square foot Mondo Synthetic Turf facility adjacent to the Chlapaty Recreation and Wellness Center provides an excellent training environment for campers.

Hot Shooting Men's Basketball Sizzle in Pella

The University of Dubuque men's basketball squad remained within striking distance of the league leader by sizzling on the road Wednesday evening in a 105-62 victory over the Central College Dutch. The Spartans led 46-28 at halftime and would shoot over 70% from the three point area, sinking 12-17 attempts.

#30-Ranked Wrestlers Suffer Home Loss

The University of Dubuque Stoltz Sports Center thundered with a large crowd on hand to watch #30-ranked Spartans vs. Loras College Duhawks. UD jumped out to an early lead when they captured the opening two matches, but the Duhawks rallied back to take the middle weights. UD capped off the evening with a fall at 285, unfortunately for the Spartans, the Duhawks won the hard battled Iowa Conference dual 24-18.

Comedian Pete Lee to Appear at UD

Wrestling Wraps Up Home Dual Season Against #18 Cornell

The University of Dubuque wrestling team for the second consecutive night would find itself facing another regional ranked team in #18 Cornell College. The Spartans and the Rams provided competitive matches throughout the night, with just one match being decided by a major decison in favor of the Spartans Nicholas Rivera at 133 lbs. when he captured the match 11-1. Just a handful of points would seperate the other nine weight classes which unfortunately came up short for UD on Senior Night on Friday by a score of 10-21 against Cornell.

Winters Continues to Flourish After Setting School Record

Ernest Winters doesn’t take breaks. He just breaks records. For the second week in a row, Winters dipped below 7.0 seconds in the 60m, this time breaking a University of Dubuque men’s track school record with a 6.89 at the UW-Platteville Invitational on Saturday. Winters’ time of 6.89 is the third straight personal record for the freshman, sits third in the nation, and leads the Iowa Conference (IIAC) by a wide margin heading into the conference meet in two weeks.
