Bierman Named Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach

DUBUQUE, Iowa – After serving as the assistant men’s basketball coach over the past seven seasons for the University of Dubuque, Dustin Bierman has been named Director of Golf and will coach the men’s and women’s golf teams for the Spartans. He will continue to serve as an assistant coach on the men’s basketball team.

“I’m excited to take over both programs and look forward to building the two programs into elite teams,” commented Bierman. “The legacy and direction coach Jon Davison has been guiding the men’s team is what I will strive to attain, not only for the men’s team, but also with the women’s squad as well.”

Prior to coming to the University of Dubuque, Bierman was an assistant men’s basketball coach and head women’s golf coach at Ashford University from 2006-08. He helped the basketball program to their best finish in eight seasons with a 16-13 record. He led the Women’s Golf Team to two top three finishes in the Midwest Conference in two seasons.

During his tenure with the Spartans, Bierman has excelled as the recruiting coordinator and has recruited over 20 players who earned All-Iowa Conference honors in his seven seasons including multiple MVP’s winners and Academic All-IIAC honorees.

A native of Newton, Illinois, Bierman began his basketball career at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois. He then transferred to the University of Dubuque where he completed his playing career in 2002.

Bierman holds a Bachelor degree from the University of Dubuque, and completed his master’s degree in athletic administration from Loras College in 2007.

Bierman and his wife, Jackie, are the parents of two children Josie and Max.
