Men's Lacrosse Win Home Opener

DUBUQUE, Iowa- On a frigid early afternoon, the University of Dubuque men's lacrosse team was powered by Matt Penalvert who had four goals in route def Ottawa University, 11-8.
The Spartans pelted Monmouth with 35 shots on Saturday, putting 22 of those on goal. Three Spartans, Michael Jango, Michael Julius and Joe Furnstahl, all found the back of net two times on the afternoon. UD assisted on five of their 11 goals, led by Matt Penalvert with two to go along with his four goals
UD goalkeeper, Kyle Mullins was very solid protecting the net, blocking nine of the Braves shots, earning his first win of the season. UD held Monmouth to just 25 shots while also forcing 15 turnovers.
The Spartans travel to Mt. Vernon,Iowa on March 1st to take on Cornell College at 6:00 p.m.
