DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Spartans women’s soccer team blasted past Marian University on Sunday afternoon, 4-0. 

The Spartans started slow but midway through the first half Kyleigh McLaughlin got the Spartans going with a rocket goal off of a free kick to give Dubuque the 1-0 lead. The Spartans made a living off of free kicks today, Amanda Chlebek headed in a free kick from Lauren Congelosi to extend the lead. In the second half, Cangelosi added a goal off of a free kick for one of her two goals on the afternoon.

The Spartans defense recorded their first shutout of the season.  Goalie, Megan Moll, recorded two saves in the shutout.  Moll and the rest of the Spartans defense, have not allowed a goal in the last 161:52.  

The Spartans next game is Friday, September 16th at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.
