Spartans Volleyball Drops Conference Opener to Norse

DECORAH, Iowa - Tuesday night the Spartans openeed their Iowa Conference season on the road at the Regents Center at Luther College. UD quickly collected the victory in the opening set 25-23. The host Norse would battle through the next three sets to capture the match after winning by set scores of 25-22, 25-12, and into extra points in the fourth by a 28-26 to earn their first victory in league play 3-1.
Karrah Davis attacked 56 times and finished with team high of 19 kills and a hitting percentage of .250. The Spartans finished with 56 kills and a hitting percentage of .260 as a team. Alyssa Cose added 38 set assists and Jenna Stegall collected three service aces. Defensively Jenna Runde led with 20 digs, Grace Strawser added 16 digs, and Davis 10 digs. The Spartans Anna Runge blocked one solo and two assisted blocks in the loss.
The Spartans are 4-4 overall and 0-1 in IIAC action.
