Spartans Women's Soccer Earn NSCAA Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (October 6, 2016) - A total of 892 soccer teams (315 men, 577 women) from throughout the United States have earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team during the 2015-16 academic year. Among these programs are 221 schools receiving honors for both their men and women's teams. The University of Dubuque was among the 221 schools in the nation to have both women's and men's soccer teams earning the prestigious NSCAA Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom

To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's GPA, then dividing by the number of players. The University of Dubuque women's soccer squad under the direction of head coach Jason Berna, finished the 2015-16 season with a 3.21 cumulative GPA.
