UD Fine and Performing Arts Department Presents Charles Barland Faculty Organ Recital

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Charles Barland, DMA, professor of music and head of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at the University of Dubuque, will perform an organ recital on Tuesday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m. at Queen of the Rosary Chapel in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin. The concert is free and open to the public.

ADMISSION:   Free | Non-ticketed event with freewill offering

Each piece to be performed was written in memory of a person or event. The concert is dedicated to Helen Johnston, of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, who passed away Aug. 9, 2016, and Sister Marie Juan Maney, of the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters, who passed away Dec. 2, 2016. The University of Dubuque Concert Choir will be featured during the recital, performing arrangements of choral works. The choir will sing a piece written to commemorate the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

A freewill offering will be accepted to benefit the choir’s annual tour.
