Wrestling Falls to #17 Cornell College

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque wrestling team fell on Senior Night to #17 Cornell College, 12-33.
Jeremy Melendez, Quincy Kalkbrenner, and Ethan Cain were the Spartans to collect wins on Monday night. Melendez (141 lbs.) won by injury default after a take down and nearfall, where Cornell's Josh Martin was hurt in the process. Quincy Kalkbrenner (157 lbs.) moved to 12-0 on the season after jumping out to a quick 7-0 lead on Nick Jarvis, before holding on to win 9-4. Ethan Cain (184 lbs.) earned the win after winning by a decision 10-6 over Joseph Keller.
Before the match, the Spartans honored seniors Javier Guillen, Stephen Rosenburg and Martin Flemming for their hardwork and committment to helping the Spartans be a success. UD will now prepare for the NCAA DIII Central Regionals on February 25th, at the Five Flags Center, in downtown Dubuque.
