DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque men’s soccer team played Luther College to a 0-0 tie to secure the fifth seed in the upcoming Iowa Conference Tournament.

How It Happened
-The Spartans came out firing with Chris Rigby taking the first shot of the game just 2:48 in. UD would take four of the first five shots of the game in the first 6:07 of play
-Late in the second half with the score still tied at 0, Chris Rigby took the ball on the run after a beautiful pass from his teammate and had a scoring chance but the ball sailed wide left
-Luther attempted 13 corner kicks and and great looks on a few of them but the Spartans defense remained stingy and kept everything out of the net
-Both teams combined for 27 total shots but only five of those went on goal.
-In a game that featured 36 penalties, there were a total of seven yellow cards handed out. Four on the Norse and three on the Spartans
