Men's Basketball Victorious Over College of St. Scholastica

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball team rebounded from a tough loss on Friday night at the Loras College Classic to capture the win on Saturday afternoon by a 86-75 margin over College of St. Scholastica. 

The Spartans would end the day with five student-athletes in double digit scoring. Leading the way was Marcus McDaniel who went 6-12 from the field, 5-9 from beyond the three point arc, and 7-8 at the charity stripe to finish with 24 points in 32 minutes. Michael Williams had 16 points and led UD with 10 rebounds and three blocks. Justin Barker had 12 points, Peter Ragen 11 points, and Cade Daugherty was 4-5 from the field and 10 points.

UD finished the afternoon 30-57 from the field (52.6%), 9-19 from the three point arc (47.4%), and 17-24 from the free throw line (70.8%). The Spartans held the edge in rebounding 37-29.

Next for the Spartans will be the American Rivers Conference opener when they host the Loras College Duhawks on Nov. 28 at 8 p.m. on Jon Davison Court in Stoltz Sports Center.
