Flight Instructor Refresher Clinic (FIRC)
The University of Dubuque hosts an FAA approved Flight Instructor Refresher Clinic conducted by Aviation Seminars. The seminar is held on the University of Dubuque campus. Certified Flight Instructors have the opportunity to renew their certificate up to 3 calendar months before its expiration and still retain the same expiration date. The 2016 FIRC will be held August 19-20. To sign up for the clinic please click here.
Part 61 Flight Training
Part 61 training toward the Instrument Rating, Multi-engine Rating, and Complex Endorsement can be conducted during the Summer and J-Term sessions and upon availability during the Fall and Spring semesters.
The student will be enrolled in a Currency and Refresher course, FLI 340, a one credit course. The tuition paid will be good for a period of 18 months. At the end of the 18 month period, if training is still being conducted, the student will be asked to pay additional tuition at the current University rate. Contact the Registrar to enroll in FLI 340, Registrar@dbq.edu. Inform the Registrar that you are a non-traditional flight student seeking flight training.
After registering for FLI 340, the student will set up a flight account with the University Cashier. A minimum of $300 must be established in the flight account prior to flight training. Contact Dianne Engling in Student Accounts for more information on setting up a flight account, DEngling@dbq.edu.
