    The University of Dubuque Track and Field teams set four school records in their first meet of the season on Saturday afternoon at the Sol Butler Classic. The women's team accounted for three of those records in route to a third place finish with 84 points. The men's team set one school record and finished in second with 125 points.

    The University of Dubuque Wrestling team completed at the NWCA National Duals. As a team, UD went 0-3. Individually, Derek Mizaur went 3-0 at 174 lbs. Adrian Collier won the Open 141 as well.

    The University of Dubuque Football coaching staff will be hosting the 2012 Football Awards Program on Sunday, February 10th (Note that this is a rescheduled date). The program will be take place in McCormick Gymnasium from 3:00-5:00 pm.

    The University of Dubuque men's basketball team captured the Iowa Conference tilt today over the Simpson College Storm 84-57. UD trailed by four points early in the game, but hot shooting from the outside broke the contest open for the host Spartans.

    The University of Dubuque men's basketball team captured a 76-73 overtime victory on Jon Davison Court over the Luther College Norse. The Norse were one of two unbeaten teams going into the game. Chris Frazier hit three - three pointers in the final 26 seconds of regulation.

    The University of Dubuque's vault coach Peter Dvorak will be attending the 2013 UCS National Pole Summit in Reno, Nev. on Jan. 17-19 with student-athletes: Brenda Breimon, Kashden Nelson, and Ben Clark. Dvorak will be speaking to attendees and the student athletes will be competing on Saturday, Jan. 19 beginning at 8:30 a.m.

    The University of Dubuque Track and Field teams put on an impressive show at the Karl Schlender Invitational on Saturday. The women's team finished second (of 11 teams) with 87 points. The men finished third (of 12 teams) with 75.5 points.

    The University of Dubuque Women's Basketball team picked up its first Iowa Conference road victory of the season with a 77-71 win over Central. The win was the 11th straight for the Spartans over Central. UD improves to 12-3 overall and 2-2 in the IIAC.

    The University of Dubuque Women's Basketball team hosted #11 Simpson College on Saturday afternoon inside Stoltz Sports Center. The Spartans and Storm treated everyone in attendance to a back-and-forth showdown with Simpson coming out on top 75-66. UD is now 12-4 overall and 2-3 in the Iowa Conference.

    The University of Dubuque Women's Basketball team improved to 5-1 on Jon Davison Court with a 69-55 win over Luther College. The Spartans win was the seventh straight over Luther. Dubuque is now 13-4 overall and 3-3 in the Iowa Conference.

    The University of Dubuque Women's Soccer team has been awarded the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Ethics Award. The Spartans earned the Silver Award for receiving no red cards and no more than five yellow cards accumulated during the season.

    The University of Dubuque Women's Basketball team survived 11 lead changes and seven ties against Wartburg College (12-8, 5-4) on Thursday night inside Stoltz Sports Center to come away with a 49-48 victory. Mollie Whiting hit a jumper with 2.1 seconds left in the game to give UD the victory.

    The University of Dubuque Women's Basketball team opened and closed the first half on 12-0 runs to aid in the Spartans 80-63 victory over Coe College. UD held the Kohawks scoreless for the first 5:57 and jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the process. Senior Mollie Whiting passed 1,500 career points with her first basket of the game.

    Whiting Named Iowa Conference Female Athlete of the Week

    The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced today that University of Dubuque basketball player Mollie Whiting has been named IIAC Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 3, 2013. Whiting continued her outstand senior campaign with 54 points in two Spartan victories.
