DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball team remains the only unbeaten basketball team among Iowa colleges and are one of just 18 men's teams in all divisions to have not suffered a loss in the 2013-14 season. The Spartans are one of seven colleges in NCAA Division III to remain with a perfect basketball record and improved to 14-0 overall and 3-0 in the IIAC after posting a 79-69 victory on Wednesday night over the Luther College Norse.

The Spartans started slow and trailed for nearly half of the opening half of action, before taking a three point lead with 7:05 left. The Spartans stretched the lead to 15 points at the break 45-30. UD went to the bench often and 14 Spartans saw action in the 14th victory. The two teams benches scored about the same with Luther scoring 17 points as the host Spartans bench scored 15 points. UD took advantage of the 12 Norse turnovers and scored 16 points. Luther held a large advantage over the Spartans in rebounding 42-32.

Chris Frazier led all scorers with 25 points. Andre Norris finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds in 24 minutes of play and Gage Heffernan added 15 points. Tyler Ware led the bench with six points.

UD shot over 51% from the floor (32-63) and the Spartans defense held Luther  to 41.5% shooting from the floor.

The league leading Spartans will host the Buena Vista University Beavers who enter Saturday's game with a 8-6 overall mark and an IIAC record of 3-0. The Beavers beat the Simpson College Storm in Indianola by a 86-75 score on Wednesday evening.
