Dubuque High School Juried Art Show

January 7 – 31, 2019

Always a popular community exhibit at the Bisignano, this unique show highlights works by our Dubuque high school students. The works are juried by the students’ art teachers themselves at Dubuque Senior High School, the Alternative Learning Center, Hempstead High School and Wahlert High School. What is always so surprising is that the works in this show by these young artists are, in fact, so surprising.

Escaping the Darkness: Photography by Mark Neyens

February 4 – 28, 2019

This unique show contains over 500 4x6 inch black and white pictures made by the artist from 2017 – 2018. The exhibit, subtitled “a photographic journey through confronting depression”, opens an important conversation between art and brain health.

Faculty Focus: Jean Holdener & James Cullen

March 4 – 29, 2019

The University of Dubuque has grown considerably in the last decade and we’ve established a new tradition – focusing on faculty work in various departments. This two-person show features the watercolors, paintings and digital designs of two Digital Art and Design faculty members, Professors Jean Holdener and James Cullen.

The EDGE Exhibition: DART Student Show

April 2 – 27, 2019

Every DART (Digital Art and Design) student – majors and minors - submits one work for this show that focuses on the fine arts of computer-mediated design. This is the aesthetic portion of APEX, UD’s celebration of student excellence.

DART Senior Thesis Exhibition

May 1 – 18, 2019

In partial fulfillment of the BS in Digital Art and Design, students submit their final visual projects with thesis statements in this show. The closing reception, popular with relatives of the graduating students, is on graduation day. Print media, presentation graphics, 2D and 3D animation, and web development.

UD for Kids Summer 2019 Exhibit

May 20 – August 23, 2019

 



Bisignano Art Gallery hours are 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, during the normal academic year. Summer hours vary or by appointment only. The Gallery is also open in conjunction with all major events staged in John and Alice Butler Hall. The Gallery adjoins lobby space serving Babka Theatre and John and Alice Butler Hall.
