The Good Doctor is a series of standalone scenes based on the short stories of the great Russian playwright and storyteller, Anton Chekhov. Dramatized by the American playwright Neil Simon, each scene is a look at a moment in life that could be very mundane - an accidental sneeze at the theater, pulling a tooth, falling in love, or finding the perfect birthday gift for your son - and turns it into a ridiculous, tender, or bizarre comment on the human condition. This sometimes touching, often hilarious show is a celebration of the folly and tenderness of being human. Come to the show for the laughs, and maybe find your own inspiration in the mundane along the way.

The production will be directed by Michelle Blanchard, adjunct professor of theatre.

"I am thrilled to be working with the University of Dubuque community to present this play. There is a wonderful group of students from a variety of backgrounds involved in the show, and each of them brings something different to the performance. After only a few rehearsals, I am so excited to get to work with this group on this hilarious piece," Blanchard said.

Please note: Due to adult content, this show is not recommended for children under 13.

The Good Doctor is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
