Doctoral Program Application
Revitalizing Congregations, Pastors, and Ministries
Applying to the Doctor of Ministry program at UDTS is the first step in revitalizing your congregation, strengthening your leadership skills, honing your role as pastor, and enlivening your ministry. Cohorts begin in January.
Admission Requirements for Doctor of Ministry degree
Applicants to the Doctor of Ministry must meet the following requirements:
- Completed Master of Divinity degree with a B-average from an ATS accredited seminary
- Must be in full-time ministry for a minimum of 3-years following completion of their Master of Divinity
- Must be currently employed in ministry setting and remain in ministry throughout the program
- English language is required.
Admission Deadlines
Application are accepted on a rolling basis each academic year, but Doctor of ministry cohorts only begin in January of each year.
Recommended primary dates for applications:
- Doctor of Ministry January Cohort Start: November 15
Application Items Required for Doctor of Ministry
Applicants will need the following items to complete their application:
- Work experience documentation
- Official transcript from Master of Divinity institution
- Application essays (topics provided in application)
- Letters of recommendation
- Background check with $6 processing fee
- If English is not primary language, TOEFL score
- Application fee of $30

Doctor of Ministry Topics
Each Doctor of Ministry cohort studies a unique topic that relates to congregational revitalization. Cohorts study together for three years before producing a ministry project or thesis.
