DUBUQUE, Iowa – Which Coe team will show up to face the Spartans on Senior Day? The roller coaster Kohawks (4-4, 3-2 IIAC) have alternated wins and losses since week one and are on schedule for a loss this weekend. Close games certainly aren't Coe’s forte after averaging a 19.6 point margin of defeat/victory through eight total games. They will face a Spartan team that’s had a number of close calls this season in the form of UW-Platteville (L 21-26), Pacific (Ore.) (W 16-10), and Buena Vista (L 39-44).

The Spartans feature a rejuvenated offense that’s averaged 493.5 yards a game and 36.5 points its last two games after their biggest loss of the year to No. 5 Wartburg. The key cog to the Spartan offensive is #12 QB Zach Fry who currently sits second in IIAC play with 259.2 ypg and 13 TDs. #14 WR Tyler Rutenbeck has benefitted from his rapidly improving QB and needs just two more receiving TDs to set the all-time UD record.

Coe is anchored by #11 junior QB Josh Rekers, who has been a steady force, win or lose, that sports a 203.4 ypg and 7 TD statline in IIAC play. He’ll toss to leading receiver #4 Trevor Heitland, owner of 247 yds and 2 TDs caught in five IIAC games. The offense will look to keep the momentum after scoring 21 points each in both games coming off wins, excluding the Wartburg loss.
