Dec 25, 2014

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Senior forward Jenna Kotas posted a pair of season-high marks after scoring 24 points and collecting 14 rebounds in loss to undefeated North Central (Ill.) last Friday to earn her third career Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) Athlete of the Week award.

Kotas also canned four three-pointers and swatted two shots in her first double-double effort of the year. Expect more to come from the leading scorer in the IIAC and the only player ranked Top-5 in both scoring (18.1) and rebounding (6.9). Kotas also ranks second in the IIAC in minutes played and is the leading free throw shooter (.828) on the no. 1 ranked free throw shooting team in the Iowa Conference (.733).

The Tinley Park, Ill. native has been the Spartans scoring leader in six of their eight games with a previous season-high of 22 points against Edgewood College on November 15 and versus Gustavus Adolphus on November 29, both wins.

The 2013-14 All-IIAC First Team selection majors in both sports marketing/management and business.

Kotas and Co. will return to action next Monday, December 29 against UW-Whitewater at 3:30 p.m. in the Wisconsin Dells Tournament in Wisconsin Dells, Wis.
