MONMOUTH, Ill. – Jordyn Gargus' high jump victory highlighted the University of Dubuque women's track team's trip to the Monmouth Invitational on Saturday in their third indoor meet of the year.

Normally 10 points would have been awarded for Gargus' efforts but no team scores were recorded.

Gargus earned the Spartans lone win of the day, via a tiebreak, after both she and teammate Alexis Higgins posted a 1.53m/5’0.25” mark in the high jump. It was a personal record for Gargus.

Fabiola Ortiz, UD’s second all-time fastest indoor 800 meters (2:24.38), blazed her way to a 1:45.23 in the 600 meters and a 5:23.11 in the 1 mile run. Both led to second-place finishes and her mile run moved her up to second-place all-time in UD history.

Sybbie Sears impressed after placing second in her first career pentathlon with a point total of 2455.

The throwers had a big day after four Top-5 performances between the shot put and the weight throw. Tanasha Atwater garnered a runner up finish in the shot put (12.25m/40’2.25”) and Nicole Forson placed fifth (11.69m/38’4.25”). Forson followed with a third place showing in the weight throw (14.50m/47’7”) while Katelyn Herbig placed fourth with a throw of 13.95m/45’9.25”.
