2015 Spartan Duhawk Dual Results
DUBUQUE, Iowa –DuVaun Goodlow and Alexis Higgins both set school records in winning the high jump and both took home Field MVP awards in an 11 win effort by the University of Dubuque track and field teams at the second annual Spartan-Duhawk Dual meet on Saturday night.

In a non-scoring meet, the Spartans won six of 11 events on the men's side as the women claimed victory in five of 11 events. UD took home the title in the much-anticipated weightman/weightwoman 4x200m relay. No distance races were run as the 600 meter dash represented the longest running event.

A national indoor qualifier in 2014, Goodlow eclipsed 6’-10.25” to break his own school and personal record of 6’-9.5” set at last season’s Iowa Conference Indoor Championships. The Joliet, Ill. native led a 1-2-3 finish by the Spartans in the high jump and also competed in the 55m dash (12th, 6.97) and ran the second leg of the 4x400m relay (6th, 3:49.01).

The Spartans’ Higgins, the 2014 outdoor NCAA Division III National Qualifier in the high jump, claimed Field MVP honors thanks to her personal best leap of 5’-6” in the high jump. The Cedar Falls, Iowa native beat UD's old indoor record of 5'5.75" set in 2011.

Both jumps by Goodlow and Higgins rank second in the nation and lead six other Spartans who own Top-10 marks nationally.

Breaking UD's third school record of the meet was Brittany Burns, who finished runner up in the 300m with a time of 43.50.

On the women’s side, Alexis Hanson of Loras took home Track MVP honors after winning the 300m dash and leading off the winning women’s 4x400m relay team.

Loras’ Brandon Gradoville earned the men’s Track MVP award thanks to a runner-up finish in the 300m and leading off the winning 4x400m relay.

The Spartan-Duhawk dual meet was one of the earliest official meets in the country, the Spartans will host the UD Sol Butler Classic in their next contest on January 16 at 11:00 a.m.
