OSHKOSH, Wis. - Outside hitter Klaudia Basierak earned All-Tournament honors for the Spartans at the 2015 UW-Oshkosh Volleyball Pizza Hut Classic. UD finished the tournament with a 1-1 record after defeating Maranatha Baptist (25-22, 26-24, 25-20) and falling to St. Norbert (23-25, 20-25, 17-25).

Basierak tallied 13 kills and added her second consecutive All-Tournament honor after receiving similar recognition at the Colorado Classic Tournament on September 4-5 in narrow sweep. Fellow senior Amanda Reetz posted 12 kills as the Spartans (4-5) hit .248 on the match, including .312 in the opening set. 

Setter Hannah Zieser did her part both offensively and defensively after dishing out 32 assists and collecting three block assists as she helped limit Maranatha Baptist (5-3) to a .139 hitting percentage.

Basierak and Davis combined for 17 kills as the Spartans hit .163 in loss to St. Norbert (3-5).
 
It was an odd day for the Spartan attack as the margin of defeat in each set grew despite an increase in hitting percentage. The Spartans kept it competitive in the first set despite hitting .000 in a 25-23 defeat, managed a .172 in 20-25 loss in set two, and hit a match-best .310, but allowed a .650 hitting percentage in 25-17 third set defeat. 
 
Zieser led the team with 18 assists.

The Spartans open up Iowa Conference play on the road at Coe this Tuesday, September 15 at 7:30 p.m.
