DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque football team's senior linebacker Blaine Snitker and senior offensive lineman Tanner Bronkema were each named to the Third Team, All-West Region by D3Football.com.

After helping the Spartans win the 2015 Iowa Conference title, the pair became the seventh and eighth Spartans to be named to the All-Region team since 2011, their last IIAC title.

Snitker battled injuries early, but returned to anchor a Spartan defense that led the IIAC in scoring and total defense during league play. A first time All-West Region award winner, Snitker finished the season with 54 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and one interception in eight games. The three-time All-IIAC selection has already been named IIAC Defensive MVP, IIAC Defensive Performer of the Week, a William V. Campbell trophy national semifinalist, a Cliff Harris Award national finalist, Academic All-IIAC, and First Team CoSIDA Academic All-District.

The Waukon, Iowa native majors in mathematics and secondary education.

Bronkema claimed All-West Region honors for the first time after starting 10 games and holding down an offensive line that boasted the IIAC's No. 2 scoring attack and No. 3 total offense during an undefeated, seven-game IIAC slate. The Forreston, Ill. native helped bolster a line that allowed the second fewest sacks (8) across conference play. Bronkema has also been honored as an Academic All-Iowa Conference award recipient.

The 2015 First Team All-IIAC selection majors in sport marketing & management.
