Engelken Leads Spartans Men's Golf to Fourth Place Finish

PEOSTA, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's golf is anxious to find some good weather in the spring 2016 season. Monday afternoon the Spartans were led by Tyler Engelken who tied for medalist honors, but placed third after the tie breaks. He helped the Spartans to a fourth place finish at the 2016 Duhawk Spring Invite held at Thunder Hills Country Club on Sunday, April 10 and Monday, April 11.

 

Engelken carded rounds of 75 and 76 to finish with a score of 151. Troy Krueger tied for 15th with a 158, Lane Hawkins ried for 26th with a 163, Chance Manternach tied for 30th after a 164 score, Cameron Shere tied for 30th with a 164, Anders Haukoos tied for 42nd with a 168, Cameron Upmann tied for 47th after shooting a 176 and Nathaniel Jackson placed 55th with a 190. The Spartans were in third place after the first round by shooting a team 315. The Spartans slipped on Monday and finished with a score of 331 and fell to fourth place in the team standings with a 646.
