Hernandez Cascante Named NSCAA Scholar All-American

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Gonzalo Hernandez Cascante represented the University of Dubuque men's soccer team once again after being named to the NSCAA Division III Scholar All-America Third Team.

Hernandez Cascante was named to his first Scholar Athlete team after meeting the following criteria: must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average throughout career, start more than 50 percent of team's games, be a significant contributor to team, and be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member. 

The junior from Madrid, Spain checked off all the requirements and continues to add to his collection of awards in 2015 that include IIAC MVP, Academic All-Iowa Conference, NSCAA All-North Region First Team, CoSIDA Academic All-District, UD's Athlete of the Month (twice), and Iowa Conference Offensive Player of the Week (twice). 

Hernandez-Cascante, the first Iowa Conference Offensive MVP in school history, led the IIAC in four major categories over the course of the season: goals (13), assists (9), points (35), and game-winners (5) en route to a bevy of accolades.
