Norris and Atwater Named February Student-Athletes of the Month

Senior Andre Norris became UD's all-time leading scorer and sophomore Tanasha Atwater won her first IIAC shot put title as both named February Student-Athletes of the Month.

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Senior Andre Norris took home UD February Male Student-Athlete of the Month after leading men’s basketball to their first IIAC title since 1990 while sophomore Tanasha Atwater was named UD Female Student-Athlete of the Month thanks to her first IIAC indoor shot put title.
Norris averaged 23.0 ppg and 11.1 rpg in seven games in February and scored 23 points to help UD clinch the Iowa Conference regular season title at Luther on February 13. The senior, later named Iowa Conference MVP for the second consecutive season and Defensive Player of the Year, finished the season and career as the leading scorer in UD history with 1936 points.
Norris was only the fifth player in IIAC history to be a four-time All-IIAC selection and led the nation in defensive rebounds with 11.12 per game.
Atwater was undefeated in 7 of 8 throwing events in February and capped off dominant month with first Iowa Conference indoor shot put title. Leading up to March 11-12 Division III National Championship indoor meet and excluding a pair of last chance meets, Atwater won 13 of 16 throwing events this season and set the school record in both the shot put and weight throw.
Atwater finished Top-20 nationally in both throwing events.
