School Records Lead MVPs Goodlow and Higgins to IIAC POW Awards

DUBUQUE, Iowa - High jumping specialists, men's junior DuVaun Goodlow and women's senior Alexis Higgins, each broke the respective University of Dubuque indoor track and field high jump school records and earned Field MVP awards at the Spartan Duhawk Dual to earn Iowa Conference Track Athlete of the Week honors.

Goodlow earned his third career IIAC Track Performer of the Week honor after eclipsing 6’-10.25” to break his own school and personal record of 6’-9.5” set at last season’s Iowa Conference Indoor Championships. The Joliet, Ill. native led a 1-2-3 finish by the Spartans in the high jump at the Spartan Duhawk Dual while also competing in the 55m dash (12th, 6.97) and running the second leg of the 4x400m relay (6th, 3:49.01).

Higgins garnered her first career IIAC Track Performer of the Week award after setting a new indoor school record and personal best of 5'-6" in winning the Spartan Duhawk Dual on Saturday, December 5.

The Cedar Falls, Iowa native was a 2014 outdoor NCAA Division III National Qualifier and beat UD's old indoor record of 5'5.75" set in 2011.

The dynamic duo are the defending Iowa Conference Indoor Champions in the high jump and will compete in the UD Sol Butler Classic on Saturday, January 16 at 11:00 a.m.
