Spartans Outshoot Lawrence 24-5 in Narrow Victory

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Despite a dominant performance, the University of Dubuque women's soccer team escaped with a narrow 1-0 victory over Lawrence thanks to Katie Lynn's second half goal on Saturday afternoon.

Lynn delivered her team-leading fourth goal of the season in the 56th minute after launching a season-high nine shots as she aided the Spartans 24-5 shot advantage. Only two of her shots were on goal, but many of her attempts were just off the mark, especially in the first half. Lynn and the Spartans (3-1-1) saw their share of scoring opportunities in the first half and led the shot count, 14-3 at the break, as Lawrence (2-2) goalkeeper Patsy Kealey held her own en route to a season-high 11 saves.

Lynn and usual starter, forward Kyleigh McLaughlin, have combined for all six Spartan goals of the season. McLaughlin sat out today's game. 

Rosas backed up Lynn with five shots, including a team-high three shots on goal while UD's freshman goalkeeper Megan Moll anchored the defense after grabbing two saves in her first career start. UD's
