Official IIAC Release
DUBUQUE, Iowa – Sophomore Tanasha Atwater was named the Iowa Conference’s Female Track Performer of the Week in setting the school record after winning shot put for the second straight week at the Monmouth Midwest Invite last Saturday afternoon.

No team scores were kept at Monmouth, but Atwater took home her fourth and fifth individual victory of the season with her school record shot put toss (45-4.5/13.83m) and winning weight throw toss (48-5.25/14.76m). The Davenport, Iowa native previously set the shot put school record last week in claiming IIAC Female Athlete of the Week honors.

Starting with her first career win in the shot put at the Spartan-Duhawk dual in December, Atwater has gone on to win five of her six events between the shot put and weight throw with a second-place showing as her only non-win.

The sophomore leads the IIAC in the shot put (45-4.5/13.83m) and ranks fourth nationally in Division III while her best weight throw mark (48-11.5/14.92m) set at UD’s Sol Butler Classic is third in the conference and 47th in the nation.

Atwater also owns the outdoor shot put school record and majors in Pre-professional Health.
