Men's Lacrosse Ends Season on High Note

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn – The University of Dubuque men’s lacrosse team blew out the North Central University Rams on Saturday afternoon, ending the season with a 22-3 victory.

Michael Jango began the scoring for the Spartans only 30 seconds into the game and the rout was on from there. The Spartans would score the first 19 goals of the game and hold the Rams scoreless until there was just 2:17 remaining in the game. After giving up three straight goals, UD finished the game’s final minute with three goals of their own to put the cherry on top.

10 different Spartans found the back of the net on Saturday. Michael Jango led the way with five goals on just 10 shots. Jango also assisted on four other UD goals. Davis Behrns and Tanner Weis both netted a hat trick for the Spartans and Ben Gallagher added two goals of his own. UD assisted on 11 of their 22 goals.

UD dominated every facet of the game, outshooting the Rams 59-18 and 33-11 in shots on goal. UD also won 19 of 26 face offs, converted on 20 of 21 clear attempts while holding the Rams to 18 of 25 on clears and forcing the Rams into 23 turnovers.

The Spartans 22 goals are the most goals in a game by the team this season.

UD ends the 2018 season with a 8-9 record.
