Men's Soccer Pitches Shutout Against Edgewood

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque men’s soccer team moved to 2-0 on the season with a 2-0 win over Edgewood College on Wednesday night.

How It Happened
-The Spartans were on the attack early, taking eight shots before Edgewood attempted their first shot.
-Right before halftime, Alex Lee fed Noah Clarke the ball who gave it right back to Lee who fired from outside the 18 yard box and found the back of the net to break the tie.
-Off of an Edgewood corner kick, the ball rolled through the goal box for a scoring chance for Edgewood but the ball continued to roll through untouched and the game remained 1-0 in favor of UD.
-With the ball bouncing around in the goal box and after several UD attempts and Edgewood blocks, Jacob Hutzell was able to get it out of the crowd and into the goal to put UD up 2-0 in the 78th minute.
-It looked like the Spartans added a third goal late but the ref waved it off for interference.
