Meyer Leads Spartans Women's Basketball on the Road

LA CROSSE, Wis. - The University of Dubuque women's basketball team was led by senior Abbey Meyer on Saturday, who finished with 20 points in the 47-58 road loss to the UW-La Crosse Eagles.

Meyer was the lone double digit scorer in the low scoring affair. Morgan Boer added eight points and grabbed three rebounds. The Spartans would finish with 10 points from their bench personnel. UD ended the afternoon shooting 19-60 from the field (31.7%), 5-18 from the three point line (27.8%), and 4-7 at the free throw line (57.1%).

UD ended the first half on a 9-0 run as they entered the break leading the Eagles 25-20. The Eagles started the second half inspired and outscored the Spartans 29-14 in the third quarter. Both squads were held to single digits in the final quarter of action with UD scoring eight points and the Eagles nine points.

The Spartans (2-6 overall) travel to face the Augustana College Vikings on Dec. 13 at 5:00 p.m.
