Women's Soccer Posts Third Straight Shutout

STORM LAKE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's soccer team traveled to Buena Vista on Saturday and held the Beavers to two shots in route to a 3-0 win.

How it Happened
-After neither team attempted a shot in the first 10 minutes, Olivia Sullivan recorded the first shot at 10:13 but it was saved
-UD struck first in the 33rd minute when Lauren Cangelosi scored off of penalty
-UD got off 6 shots in the first half and all of them went on net
-Not even two minutes into the second half the Spartans grew their lead to 2-0 when Lauren Cangelosi took a corner kick which found Olivia Sullivan and Sullivan converted
-In the 78th minute, once again the Spartans struck on a corner kick. Cangelosi took the corner but this time she found Amanda Chlebek who was able to finish to put UD 3-0 and seal the game.
-UD took five corner kicks, while Buena Vista did not attempt one

-The three goals is the most goals in a game this season for the Spartans. It is the second time they have done it and the first time since the second game of the season.
-UD has clinched a spot in the 201 Iowa Conference tournament
