Men's Soccer Blanked by St. John's

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque men’s soccer team dropped their second game in as many days, falling to St. John’s 2-0 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

How It Happened
-Chris Rigby got loose on a break in the game’s second minute and set a shot from about 30 yards out but drilled the post.
-With the score still at 0-0 early in the second half, the Spartans got one of their pest looks of the day but once again hit the post, this time off the foot of Carlos Sanchez.
-St. John’s broke the scoreless game in the 64th minute after a scramble in the box off of a free kick ended up in the net.
-The Johnnies pushed their lead to 2-0 in the 81st minute.
-The Spartans made one last push and thought they had their first goal of the day in the 88th minute When Glorie Luwara got past the goalie for an open net but a sliding Johnnie defender slid and kicked the ball away right at the goal line to keep the Spartans off the board.
