Volleyball Downs the Storm 3-0, Move into Third Place of A-R-C

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque quited the storm on Saturday with a 3-0 victory, winning by set scores 25-16, 25-12, 25-19. The win moved the Spartans into third place of the American Rivers Conference with a 4-3 mark with one match left on the conference season. 

UD finished the afternoon hitting .330 for the day making just three attack errors. Kara Wright led with nine kills, Darby Hawtrey had eight, and Grace Hintze finished with seven kills. Kate Messino had 24 set assists and nine digs. The defensive leader was Grace Strawser with 17 digs. UD ended the match with five solo blocks and four assisted blocks. Shauna McAleer collected two solos and an assist. Rylee Andresen added a solo and two assisted blocks. 

The Spartans improve to 18-10 overall and 4-3 in the A-R-C. UD will host the Loras College Duhawks on Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in Stoltz Sports Center for the final conference match-up of the year.
