Award Winners Named in the 2024 "The Edge Show"

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque's Department of Digital Art and Design announced the award winners of the 2024 "The Edge Show" during a reception on Thursday, April 4, 2024, in the Bisignano Art Gallery, Heritage Center.

Dillon Leffler, a senior digital art and design major from Plattsmouth, Nebraska, earned Best of Show with his artwork, The Final Show. It was the third year in a row Leffler received the title. He was named Best of Show in 2023 for Playing for Keeps and in 2022 for Man on a Mission.

Other 2024 "The Edge Show" award winners are:

Peyton Metzger, a junior digital art and design major from Clinton, Iowa - Peyton's World

Second Place
Jenna Benzing, a senior digital art and design major from Caledonia, Minnesota - Ready. Set. Focus.

Third Place
Kaytelynn Gable, a junior digital art and design major from Lena, Illinois - Reality Overgrown

Honorable Mention
Alyssa Classen, a senior digital art and design major from Rib Lake, Wisconsin - A Loyal Friend

"The Edge Show" is an annual fine art exhibit in which students in the Department of Digital Art and Design step away from the classroom's client-driven projects to create individual artwork. The exhibit is free and open to the public through Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the art gallery, 2255 Bennett Street.

Approximately 30 student artworks are on display. The digital images and illustrations include digital paintings, graphic illustrations, imagined landscapes, contemporary icons, expressive portraits, and abstract expressions.

Gallery hours are noon to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The art gallery is open in conjunction with all major events in John and Alice Butler Hall, Heritage Center. "The Edge Show" is also available virtually at http://gallery.dbq.edu.
