University of Dubuque String Ensemble to Perform at Viva la Musique

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque String Ensemble and the Dubuque Community String Orchestra will present Viva la Musique at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2155 University Avenue.

Viva la Musique will feature music by French composers performed by the UD String Ensemble and the Dubuque Community String Orchestra under the direction of Tracey Rush, MM, adjunct professor at UD and founder of the Dubuque Community String Orchestra.

The concert will include selections from "The Carnival of Animals" featuring soloist Luke Tyler, DA, and Roger Tyler, piano; Dr. Hillard Salas, MD, and Brady Potts, a sophomore music major from Asbury, Iowa, violin; and Josette Robertson, a senior music major from Colorado Springs, Colorado, clarinet.

New this academic year, the UD String Ensemble is a partnership with the Northeast Iowa School of Music (NISOM). Rush is the founder and former executive director of NISOM. She also founded the Dubuque Community String Orchestra, which is celebrating its 25th season.

Viva la Musique is free and open to the public. No ticket is required.
