Sophomores Nicole Fein (Vallego Calif./St. Patrick-St. Vincent) and Alyssa Holt (Durand, Ill./Durant) led the young Spartans in the classroom as they were named Academic All-Iowa Conference.

UD opens the 2013 season with an exhibition match at Clarke University on August 28th at 7:30 pm. The regular season will begin at the Buc Blast Tournament hosted by Beloit College on August 30th and 31st. The Spartans open Iowa Conference action at home against Loras on September 18th at 7:30 pm.

The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
