Spartans Qualify for NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships

The University of Dubuque men's and women's track teams qualified four individuals, Tanasha Atwater, Alex Link, Blaze Murfin, and Fabiola Ortiz for the 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships being held in Waverly, Iowa, hosted by Wartburg, on May 26-28.

Nine Spartans Tabbed USTFCCCA All-Central Region

Led by Blaze Murfin, Isaiah Ellis, and Tanasha Atwater, who were honored in two events each, the University of Dubuque track and field teams saw nine Spartans named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Central Region team.

Sablay Represents Men’s Tennis as Honorable Mention All-IIAC

Sophomore Matthew Sablay paced the University of Dubuque men’s tennis team with 18 overall wins and finished 4-3 at No. 2 singles in Iowa Conference play en route to an Honorable Mention All-IIAC distinction.

Spartans Place Fourth at IIAC Championships Behind Murfin’s IIAC Field MVP

Freshman Blaze Murfin won both the shot put and hammer throw and placed third in the discus to claim the Iowa Conference’s Most Valuable Field Performer en route to the University of Dubuque men’s track and field team placing fourth overall. UD totaled five champions and 11 All-IIAC performers.

Atwater Becomes UD's First-Ever Women's IIAC MVP at IIAC Championships

Sophomore thrower Tanasha Atwater won the shot put and placed second in the hammer throw as the University of Dubuque women’s track and field team placed third at the Iowa Conference Outdoor Championships. Overall, the Spartan women had three champions and nine All-IIAC performers.
