Spartans Finish 1-2-3 at Elmhurst Invite

OAKBROOK, Ill. - The University of Dubuque men's golf team continues their fall schedule domination on Wednesday afternoon by winning the 2013 Elmhurst Men's Golf Fall Invitational held at Oakbrook Country Club with a team score of 285, a three stroke under par finish. The three under par is the lowest round the team has completed this school year.
Medalst honors were claimed by the Spartans Eric Wolfe (Sr., Cuba City, Wis.) after shooting a -4 under par 68. Trailing Wolfe were teammates Mitch Sobotta (Sr., Arcadia Wis.) who finished with a -2 under par 70 for runner-up medalist honors and Martin Odegard (Sr., Dubuque, Iowa) who capped off the round with a -1 under par 71 for third place.
Odegard and Wolfe lead the Spartans with an average a +2 over par with averages of 72.91 and 73.18 respectively. Wolfe and Sobotta are tied with the lowest rounds of the season with a -4 under par. Sobotta finished with a round of 67 (-4 under par) at Edgewood's Fall Classic while Wolfe shot a 68 (-4 under par) at Elmhurst Fall Invite. The trio of Sobotta, Odegard, and Wolfe have all finished in the Top-10 in five meets this fall.
In six events this fall the Spartans have never placed lower than second and have won five out of the six events.
