UD Campus Ministry to Present Fernando Alvarez and Rendered Heart

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The passion of modern worship and the soul of gospel will come together in a powerful night of faith and music when University of Dubuque Campus Ministry presents Fernando Alvarez and Rendered Heart on Thursday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Heritage Center’s John and Alice Butler Hall on the university’s campus.

Alvarez is the founder and director of Rendered Heart International. Born into a family of ministers, he has been ministering for over 20 years and is a worship leader at Lakewood Church in Houston. Working with various ministries, Alvarez travels across the United States and around the world leading worship and teaching the word of God in churches, conferences, and transformational events.

“Fernando Alvarez brings the best in modern worship music, in English and Spanish, to events around the world. Fernando is sought after for conferences and events,” said Dana Perreard, UD campus pastor and associate chaplain for worship.

Special guests Bridgett Boone, UD campus ministry staff and gospel choir director, and Charise Miles, mother of a UD student and recorded gospel singer, will provide gospel music as the opening act.

This dynamic concert is part of Faith Week – a week of intentional efforts held March 19-24 at UD to demonstrate the truth of God’s love, foster fellowship and understanding, and honor all. Faith Week is coordinated by UD Campus Ministry and Christian Leadership Council, a student organization, with additional funding from the Calvin Institute for Christian Worship and the Synod of Lakes and Prairies.
