The long-awaited, simplified 2024-25 FAFSA form is finally ready! With fewer steps and new aid calculations, the new FAFSA will make the filing process easier for the millions of students and families who receive financial aid.

Create or Confirm FSA ID

The student and anyone else required to provide information on the student's FAFSA, such as parents or a spouse, will need an FSA ID to enter, complete and sign the FAFSA form. An FAFSA ID is a username and password combination used to access the U.S. Department of Education online systems. The FSA ID is your legal signature and should not be created or used by anyone other than you. New students can create and returning students (and their parent) can confirm their FSA ID at https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/sign-in/landing. Returning students and parents who are not able to reset their FSA ID online, can call the U.S. Department of Education at 1-800-433-3243.

Complete the FAFSA Form

Complete the FAFSA at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. The form may occasionally be paused for maintenance to improve the user experience.

University of Dubuque's federal school code is: 001891.

The student and contributor(s) must provide consent and approval to have their federal tax information transferred from the IRS. We understand your tax data may not accurately reflect your current financial situation. If you or a contributor had a significant change in income, contact the Student Financial Planning Office at 563-589-3170 or FinAid@dbq.edu for a Special Circumstances Request Form.

Get Notified

While online processing of FAFSA data usually takes 7-10 days, the U.S. Department of Education has informed colleges that 2024-25 FAFSA data will not be available to schools until early March 2024. Once 2024-25 FAFSA data is received, students requiring additional information or documents will be contacted and financial aid offers will be issued. Students can check the MyUD portal under the Financial Aid tab to check document availability and status.
