Applying to the Master of Arts or Master of Divinity program at UDTS is a response to God's call that can blossom into a profound journey of deepening faith, knowledge, and skills to help you join God's mission.

Admission Requirements for Master of Arts programs

Applicants to Master of Arts programs must meet the following requirements:

  • Students applying for a master's program at UDTS are expected to have an undergraduate degree, but diverse academic backgrounds such as history, philosophy, languages and literature, natural or social sciences, music or fine arts, or religion are welcome.
  • In unique situations, applicants to our Master of Arts programs may be admitted provisionally if they do not meet all academic criteria. Conditions may be placed on acceptance such as the need for additional humanities coursework, in some circumstances.
  • Students in the Master of Arts in Mission and Discipleship and Master of Arts in Reformed Theology programs are strongly encouraged to begin their studies with a brief August residency introductory course.

Admission Requirements for Master of Divinity program

Applicants to the Master of Divinity program must meet the following requirements:

  • Students applying for a master's program at UDTS are expected to have an undergraduate degree, but diverse academic backgrounds such as history, philosophy, languages and literature, natural or social sciences, music or fine arts, or religion are welcome.
  • In unique situations, applicants to our Master of Divinity programs may be admitted provisionally if they do not meet all academic criteria. Conditions may be placed on acceptance such as the need for additional humanities coursework, in some circumstances.
  • Students in the Master of Divinity program are strongly encouraged to begin their studies with a brief August residency introductory course.

Admission Deadlines

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis each academic year.

Recommended primary dates for applications:

  • Master of Arts or Master of Divinity August Residency or Fall Term Start: June 15
  • Master of Arts or Master of Divinity Spring or Summer Term Start: November 15

Application Items Required for Master's Programs

Applicants will need the following items to complete their application:

  • Work experience documentation
  • Official transcripts from any prior higher education completed
  • Application essays (topics provided in application)
  • Three letters of recommendation - pastor, professor, colleague or friend
  • Background check with $6 processing fee
  • If English is not primary language, TOEFL score
  • Application fee of $30
