Investments of securities are suitable from people of any age and any income/estate level to donate and may minimize capital gains taxation. Donors also benefit from an income tax deduction of the full market value of the securities. In most cases, the investment of stocks or appreciated securities are based on the median value of the stock/securities, as indicated by the New York Stock Exchange on the date the stocks/securities are transferred into the University of Dubuque's name.
UD offers three ways to make an investment of stock or appreciated securities: Hand Delivery, Mailing Certificates, or Electronic Transfer (most popular).
